Modern Slavery Act 2015- Policy Statement
Respect for human rights is a fundamental part of our business values and the way we work.
Pickstock Telford Ltd is committed to treating employees, agency workers, contractors and business partners with dignity, fairness and respect. We support internationally recognised human rights principles and work to ensure our operations are conducted ethically, responsibly and in accordance with applicable legislation.
Our approach is guided by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the International Labour Organisation Core Conventions and relevant UK legislation, including the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Our commitments
Responsible business and supply chains
We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, labour exploitation and human trafficking. We undertake proportionate due diligence to identify, prevent and mitigate human rights risks within our own operations and supply chain. We expect suppliers, labour providers, contractors and other business partners to comply with applicable law and uphold equivalent standards.
Where appropriate, we may seek assurance through supplier assessments, recognised certification, site visits, independent or customer audits, and review of corrective actions. Where an adverse human rights impact is identified, we will seek to address the issue and provide for, or co-operate in, fair and appropriate remediation where the circumstances require it.
Speaking up
We encourage employees, workers and business partners to report concerns relating to human rights, unethical conduct, unsafe working conditions, discrimination, harassment, labour exploitation or modern slavery. Concerns may be raised with a Line Manager, Human Resources, a Director or through the Company’s Whistleblowing Procedure. We will not tolerate retaliation or victimisation against anyone who raises a genuine concern in good faith.
Governance and review
Overall responsibility for our Human Rights Policy rests with the Managing Director. Human Resources supports implementation, communication and review, while managers are responsible for promoting fair treatment and escalating concerns within their areas. Our approach is supported by internal monitoring, supplier due diligence, training, audits and corrective action where required.
This statement will be reviewed at least annually and sooner where there are significant legal, operational, organisational or risk changes.
